FAQ

  • The trails are all natural, featuring a mix of easier and more technical sections throughout. Few trails are consistently easy from start to finish, so a solid level of skill and experience is recommended to fully enjoy a week of enduro riding and make the most of the entire trail network. We also suggest maintaining a similar skill level within the group. To get a better idea of the trails, feel free to check out our YouTube Channel.

  • Due to the terrain and the varied difficulty of our trails, we’re unable to offer our standard shuttle days for beginners. Additionally, we can't provide one-on-one coaching to ease you into riding the Molini trails. However, you're more than welcome to ride one of our E-Bike Tours, which we’ll tailor to your preferences and skill level and we can share through our komoot profile. You can experience some stunning, scenic dirt roads and routes perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a great day of riding.

  • To get the most out of your holiday, we recommend using a trail or enduro bike with at least 140 mm of travel.

  • We recommend wearing protective gear such as: gloves, knee pads, back protector or combined chest/back protector, elbow pads and either a full-face or half shell (enduro) helmet. The choice of helmet really depends on your preferred setup. Wearing a helmet and knee pads is mandatory.

  • We have tools in our shop to help you out, however we only hold a limited number of emergency parts in stock. Since the next bike shop is about 30 km away, we recommend bringing the specific parts for your bike and in particular those of which you know you tend to break most ;-)

  • We offer secure bike storage if you book your entire stay with us. If you’re just with us for the day we keep your bike secure during lunchtime. Your bike is caked in mud? Do not fret - we have a bike wash in Molini where you can clean your bike before we lock it away for the night.

  • For most of the trails we drop you with the shuttle right at the trailhead. However when we go on more backcountry-style rides (for example Monte Torragio or Summit-to-Sea) there will be some pedalling involved, but we always make sure the group stays together and we rest in between. Don’t worry, your legs will be fine!

  • We are roughly open from mid March to the end of October. This is of course all depending on the weather, and higher trails might be covered in snow early on or towards the end of the season. If you have a specific time in mind which is outside this period then please get in touch - however do bear in mind that we really do not ride over the winter months in order to protect the trails and give nature and wildlife a rest.

  • We typically start at 9:00 and wrap up around 17:00, all depending on the group’s preference, and of course whether aperitivo is calling you ;-)

  • We are in Molini and having a proper lunch is a way of life! Therefore no need to worry about carrying any food with you (unless you tend to snack a lot), as we will stop for restaurants at lunchtime and you can eat sandwiches, salads or smaller warm dishes. Carry some water with you though, to make sure you stay hydrated during the day. During shuttle days you can leave the water in the van or take it with you in your hip bag or on your bike. We recommend bringing your backpack or a bigger hip bag for the backcountry days, as we won’t see our shuttle for a few hours until we get to a collection point or lunch spot.

RIDING IN MOLINI

Booking PROCESS

  • Ideally you book your entire stay with us, as we run a B&B in combination with our MTB shuttle and guided tour offering. We do have limited space of individual uplifts available at times, for those who only want to come up to Molini for the day. You can find all the necessary info under Prices and you can reach out via Contact.

  • Schweeet! You want to stay with us! Booking is super simple: just reach out via email, give us the details of when you want to stay, how many people you are, how many shuttles days you want to book (ie. do you want a rest day in between) and we will plan your entire stay. It’s like an all-inclusive holiday - but way cooler! You can find all the necessary info under B&B Molini, Prices and you can reach out via Contact.

  • Yes of course you can always book with us as long as we have space in one of our shuttles and rooms in the B&B. For the shuttle we will try to combine your group with another one that is staying with us, or with guests who have just booked individual shuttle days. If that is not possible we will create a customised offer for you. Just reach out via Contact, we’re here to help!

  • To keep it short and simple: We don’t offer insurance, but insurance is mandatory to come riding with us. Please refer to our Booking Terms.

  • Molini di Triora tends to be cooler and a bit damper than Finale Ligure or San Romolo [Sanremo], which are closer to the coast. We reach peaks above 2000 meters on our shuttle days and backcountry tours, making riding pretty pleasant even in the height of summer - and the terrain is not too dry or dusty. It's always a good idea to be prepared for some rain, and also make sure to bring warmer clothing, especially in spring and fall.

  • Biking on rainy days is definitely possible - just make sure you're prepared! If the rain’s really pouring down and the riding turns into a total mudfest, we’ll tweak the plan and come up with an alternative. We also have a bike wash in Molini, so you can easily clean your bike when the day has been a bit on the muddy side.

  • Yes you can! As long as you have booked your stay in our B&B or the Studio Apartment we offer laundry service. We also have a bike wash in Molini, so you can easily clean your bike when the day has been a bit on the muddy side.

weather

  • To start with, we have three bars in Molini (hello aperitivo!), a family-run restaurant that’s been around for over 100 years, an amazing pizza place, a grocery store with fresh, local fruits and vegetables as well as other staple items. There is a pharmacy which is open several days of the week and also a petrol station - but in any case you can find more amenities just down the road in Badalucco (best ice cream!) or up in Triora, and restaurants are plenty in the entire valley.

  • Most of our guests arrive by car with some flying in via Nice, especially those coming over from the UK. Nice Airport is just 1,5 hrs drive from Molini, and if you don’t fancy hiring a car we can offer you an airport collection. Just let us know when booking your stay with us. Struggling with your route planning? Find our address under Contact and give google maps a go…really isn’t that difficult ;-)

  • Please note we don’t have dedicated parking spaces neither for the aTIPICO Shop & MTB Shuttle side of the business nor the B&B Guesthouse. The villages in the Valle Argentina tend to have a main road running through the village while the residential areas can only be reached on foot. Please park your car on the main roads and the dedicated parking spaces along them. If you are unsure, stop by our shop in the centre of Molini, next to the Bar Gallo Nero, and we will point you in the right direction.
